Our Art Safari!

We went on an Art Safari on the Museum of Modern Art's site! We wrote stories inspired by paintings!

The Mysterious Man

One special night there was a man named Safari heloved to play the violin.  Before one afternoon he went to take a trip to Africa. So he was happy because his family was there and he could see them. But when he got there, it was 10:00 pm and when he finally got to his parents' house, the house was abundant and no one lived there. So he tried to figure out what happen and where could they be. Then a women came up to Safari and said “Sir, did your family live there?”And Safari said yes, what happened to them? The lady said they moved to California and Safari said think you. So Safari was sad and he was angry. So when he was walking he found a cave and he fall asleep. Then a big lion came by and woke safari up and safari said PLEASE DON'T HURT ME and the lion growled at him and the lion walked away.

The Lion Rescues the Musician Girl

In this picture, the lion is helping the girl. She got lost and fell asleep. The lion smelled her and came to investigate. The lion’s tail sticks out like a housecat’s He has a bright eye that makes him look kind of intense, but maybe it’s just a reflection of the moonlight. The girl set out from a nearby village to play the flute for a local festival. She followed the wrong star. She is supposed to bring her friend in the next town his mandolin, but it got filled with rainwater. She is afraid he will be hurt because the mayor is very strict with musicians. The girl and the lion are near and enchanted lake. The lion may be a reincarnation of her deceased brother. The moon is watching over them. At midnight, the lion will wake the girl and they will goto the town. The moon will enchant the mandolin so that it dries. The youngerbrother/lion will return with the girl to their village.

In the picture the lion is trying to eat the man but realizes that the man is sleeping and meant the lion
no harm .The lion started sniffing and smelling the manto tell if he was bad or good. But, when the lion finds out that the man is a musicianand plays the guitar he now knows that his soul and life is pure, peaceful, and kind.

Hi my name is….Ty

       There was a bird named Ty. He loved to fly in the jungle. Then one day
there was a Hawk that came in the jungle and said I’m going to rule
the jungle. So Ty ran from home to go get help. So Ty flew to the city
to find his friend  walé. Walé,walé, puffed Ty. So Ty and Wale went
to the jungle and the Hawk said you can not defeat me .   So they had
a battle between  Ty and the Hawk.   So Ty won the battle and the
jungle was safe and sound.THE END

THE STORY OF THE BAG THAT MY LITTLE SISTER AND I WANTED. A GIRL NAMED
KINOMI WAS WALKING WITH HER SISTER KIMODO-AKIMI WHEN THEY SAW A NICE
BAG IN THE WINDOW MALL “AKIMI” KINOMI SAID LOOK AT THE BAG , AKIMI SAW
THE BAG AND IMMEDIATELY FELL IN LOVE. KINOMI SAW THAT AKIMI LOVED THE
BAG SO SHE TOLD HER SISTER THAT IF THEY WORKED TOGETHER THEY COULD GET
THE BAG AND SHARE IT.AKIMI LOVED THAT IDEA.SO THEY WORKED TOGETHER AND

Last week we looked at the art of Chris Jordan. We looked at a picture of a dinosaur that was composed out of   "40,000 plastic bags, equal to the estimated number of plastic bags consumed around the world every ten seconds." We looked at the artist's version of Starry Night, made from images of "50,000 cigarette lighters, equal to the estimated number of pieces of floating plastic in every square mile in the world's oceans." The pictures inspired us to think of some ways that we can help the earth.

This week we played Rhyming Races. We split up into two teams, Team Victory and Team Jared. Then we made these beautiful flash cards:

The teams saw how many rhymes they could come up with for each word. They could make up words, too, but then they also had to make up definitions.The lists looked like this:
