Conservation Art by Chris Jordan!

Last week we looked at the art of Chris Jordan. We looked at a picture of a dinosaur that was composed out of   "40,000 plastic bags, equal to the estimated number of plastic bags consumed around the world every ten seconds." We looked at the artist's version of Starry Night, made from images of "50,000 cigarette lighters, equal to the estimated number of pieces of floating plastic in every square mile in the world's oceans." The pictures inspired us to think of some ways that we can help the earth.

Rhyming Races!

This week we played Rhyming Races. We split up into two teams, Team Victory and Team Jared. Then we made these beautiful flash cards:

The teams saw how many rhymes they could come up with for each word. They could make up words, too, but then they also had to make up definitions.The lists looked like this:








Finally, each team wrote and performed a rap! The were awesome:
